A Brief oveview of the Prosperity Gospel
The Bible teaches us that we should learn to be content, grateful and satisfied with what we have in the absence of riches. This is something that the world does not understand, and that leaves the unsaved astounded.
Study to show thyself approved II Tim. 2:15 We are living in some difficult and distracting times. Satan is busy trying to dilute the message of God. The message is that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and that he is coming again. We are living in the era of prosperity preaching. This other Gospel is a deception of the enemy to detract people from the truth of scripture. Many false teachers and preachers are leading people down a path that is actually drawing them away from God. They are teaching the masses that the word of God is the tool for their material, and physical prosperity. Unfortunately many people fall into this trap and spend their time and energies searching for scripture to get them prosperity. They flock to ministries whose emphasis is prosperity Gospel. What they fail to realize is the Bible is a book about discipleship. Inherent in discipleship is discipline, sacrifice, patience, and even suffering. While I do not suggest there is no prosperity for the Christian I do know that the purpose of Gods word is to draw people into a intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are to give our live for Gods cause and this whole idea about Christianity is not about what God can do for us but what we can give God.
"I beseech you therefore, Bretheren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" Romans 12:1 I encourage you to intensively study the Bible for yourselve asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to you God's true Gospel.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Phil. 4:12
...There is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. Prov. 13:7
As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Cor. 6:10
But godliness with contentment is great gain... And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 1 Tim. 6:6-8

Jesus is about changing lives to glorify God. He came to save those who are lost and on their way to an eternal hell.
Christ does bring prosperity, but not necessarily material. Ephesian chapter 1 says God has bless us with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in christ Jesus. That chapter shows what true prosperity is.
